Multi-evaluation of pointing and application to dyspraxia evaluation

Abstract

Fitts law is widely used in HCI to evaluate pointing performance. However it presents flaws that can be exacerbated when the evaluation takes place with atypical populations. In this article, we present three evaluation methods for pointing performance that have been proposed recently (the WHo model, the EMG regression and the method of PVPs) and that address one or more of these flaws. We illustrate the methods on real data (4 typical subjects, 2 young subjects with dyspraxia) and discuss pros and cons of each method of this new toolbox. Elle est toutefois confrontée à certains défauts, qui peuvent être exacerbés lors d'évaluations avec des populations atypiques. Dans cet article, nous présentons trois outils d'évaluation du pointage proposées récemment (le modèle WHo, la régression EMG et la méthode des PVPs) qui fournissent des réponses à ces défauts.
