Multicriteria and Statistical Approach to Support the Outranking Analysis of the OECD Countries

Abstract: Since 2011, the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) has maintained the Better Life Initiative, which proposes a quality-of-life index called Better Life Index (BLI), consisting of 11 dimensions. This paper presents a multivariate analysis approach that aims to reduce the BLI dimensions. For this purpose, we applied factor extraction by main components to reorganize BLI variables into three dimensions (factors): dimension 1 -personal development and support factors; dimension 2 -financ… Show more

“…The modeling technique proposed by Moreira et al [76] determines a new extension present in the family of PROMETHEE methods, in which the integration of the original modeling of the method with the evaluation techniques by ordinal inputs of the SAPEVO method is carried out [77]. This hybrid method represents the integration of two methodological concepts: one for cardinal evaluation (PROMETHEE) and the other for ordinal evaluation (SAPEVO) [78,79].…”

“…It is possible to see the ELECTRE-MOr method supporting the decision-making process in various tactical, operational, logistical, and strategic problems with the help of ELECTRE-MOr web software. The main applications of the tool stand out: classification of hospital aircraft to be used in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic [69]; composition of a portfolio of IT courses offered by a training and development company [70]; edaphoclimatic and economic evaluation of regions of Brazil for the planting of African mahogany [73]; classification of boats to be acquired by the BN in the fight against COVID-19 in the Amazon [74]; and classification of the OECD Countries [75].…”

“…For applications to energy or classification problems: fuzzy interval time series energy and financial forecasting model (Liu et al, 2020); flood hazards susceptibility mapping using statistical, fuzzy logic and MCDM methods (Akay, 2021); assessment of a failure prediction model in the energy sector with multicriteria discrimination approach, Promethee based classification (Angilella & Pappalardo, 2021); hybrid neurofuzzy investigation of short-term variability of wind resource (Adedeji et al, 2021); TOPSIS-ELM framework for stock index price movement prediction (Samal & Dash, 2021); cost-sensitive business failure prediction when misclassification costs are uncertain (Bock et al, 2020); multi objective optimization of crude oil supply portfolio based on interval prediction data (Sun et al, 2022); optimization of integrated fuzzy decision tree and regression models for selection of oil spill response (Mohammadiun et al, 2021); use of PairCode algorithm for ordinal classification based on pairwise comparison (Yang et al, 2020); and client profile prediction using convolutional neural networks (Nedjah et al, 2022). In addition, there are studies that show the application of the PROMETHEE-SAPEVO-M1 multi-criteria method to the analysis of OECD countries (Pereira et al, 2022) and multicriteria analysis applied to aircraft selection, case in Brazilian Navy (Maêda et al, 2021).…”
