Abstract: The incidence of extended-spectrum β-lactamase (ESBL)-producing Enterobacterales (ESBL-EB) and carbapenem-resistant Enterobacterales (CRE) infections has been increasing worldwide, although the prevalence and mechanism of resistance vary by geographic region and institutional patterns of resistance.
