Abstract:Community-acquired pneumonia is an acute infection of lung parenchyma which causes local and systemic inflammatory changes via cytokines. Several bacteria and viruses are responsible for this type of pneumonia, and the most common bacterial cause is Streptococcus pneumoniae.
