Abstract:An 11-year-old boy presented with a 2-month history of colicky central abdominal pain associated with nausea and occasional vomiting. He had had one episode of a small quantity of fresh rectal bleeding. No abnormality was found on clinical examination of the abdomen and rectum. Sigmoidoscopy to 12 cm was negative.
