Multiple magnon modes in the Co3Sn2S2Weyl semimetal candidate

Abstract: We experimentally investigate electron transport in kagome-lattice ferromagnet Co3Sn2S2, which is regarded as a time-reversal symmetry broken Weyl semimetal candidate. We demonstrate dV /dI(I) curves with pronounced asymmetric dV /dI spikes, similar to those attributed to currentinduced spin-wave excitations in ferromagnetic multilayers. In contrast to multilayers, we observe several dV /dI spikes' sequences at low, ≈10 4 A/cm 2 , current densities for a thick single-crystal Co3Sn2S2 flake in the regime of ful… Show more

“…Strong temperature dependence in Fig. 3 (a) is in a contrast with known bulk behavior [15][16][17][18][19][20][21][22] , which can also indicate the surface state origin of the observed peaks. (Color online) Schematic representation of Au-Ti2MnAl and Ni-WTe2 interfaces, which are characterized by Weyl surface states at the interface (blue color).…”

“…However, evolution of the peaks' positions with magnetic field is unusual: the peaks are moving to lower currents in Figs. 4 and 5, which is opposite to the known bulk magnon behavior [15][16][17][18][19][20][21][22] . This peaks' evolution is the main difference of our results from the standard magnon experiments [15][16][17][18][19][20][21][22] .…”

“…Spin valve resistance is defined by the relative angle between magnetizations of the layers due to the spin-dependent scattering, which can be tuned by field or flowing current. Spin valve can be naturally realized in different types of topological materials and their heterostuctures with ferromagnets [17][18][19][20] . In this case, spin-polarized topological surface state acts as one layer of a spin valve, while the role of the other is played by the ferromagnetic lead or by the ferromagnetic sample's bulk 17,19 .…”
