Abstract:This paper introduces a family of multivariate gamma distributions characterized by a Markovian correlation structure. These distributions are interesting for detecting changes between multi-temporal sequences of synthetic aperture radar images. The parameters of these distributions can be estimated by using the maximum likelihood principle. This estimation procedure allows one to obtain a change indicator between each pair of images. A performance comparison with maximum likelihood estimators derived from a b… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
