Abstract:The negative muon transfer process in the liquid mixtures of C 6 H 6 or C 6 H 12 and CCl 4 was studied to examine the chemical effect on the muon capture process through a muon transfer reaction from the muonic hydrogen atom. Muonic X-rays, which are emitted after the muon capture by carbon or chlorine atoms, were measured using high-purity germanium detectors.
