Abstract:Background:
Hilsa shad (Tenualosa ilisha) is a popular anadromous fish in Bangladesh
known to cause allergies. Despite recognized allergenicity, there is a paucity of research at the
molecular level on hilsa allergen.
Method:
Muscle transcriptomes of hilsa from freshwater, brackish, and deep sea habitats were
sequenced using Illumina NovaSeq 6000 and assembled. BLASTx analysis of the AllergenOnline
database identified potential allergens. The molecular docking study investigated parvalbumin’s
interaction wit… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
