Context. Our recent observational study shows that the majority of coronal bright points (CBPs) in the quiet Sun are sources of one or more eruptions during their lifetime. Aims. Here, we investigate the non-potential time dependent structure of the magnetic field of the CBP regions with special emphasis on the time evolving magnetic structure at the spatial locations where the eruptions are initiated. Methods. The magnetic structure is evolved in time using a Non-Linear Force Free Field (NLFFF) relaxation approach, based on a time series of Helioseismic and Magnetic Imager (HMI) longitudinal magnetograms. This results in a continuous time series of NLFFFs. The time series is initiated with a potential field extrapolation based on a magnetogram taken well before the time of the eruptions. This initial field is then evolved in time in response to the observed changes in the magnetic field distribution at the photosphere. The local and global magnetic field structures from the time series of NLFFF field solutions are analysed in the vicinity of the eruption sites at the approximate times of the eruptions. Results. The analysis shows that many of the CBP eruptions reported in Mou et al. (2018) contain twisted flux tube located at the sites of eruptions. The presence of flux ropes at these locations provides in many cases a direct link between the magnetic field structure, their eruption and the observation of mini coronal mass ejections (mini-CMEs). It is found that all repetitive eruptions are homologous.Conclusions. The NLFFF simulations show that twisted magnetic field structures are created at the locations hosting eruptions in CBPs. These twisted structures are produced by footpoint motions imposed by changes in the photospheric magnetic field observations. The true nature of the micro-flares remains unknown. Further 3D data-driven MHD modelling is required to show how these twisted regions become unstable and erupt.

Detection of breast cancer (BC) in young women is challenging because mammography, the most common tool for detecting BC, is not effective on the dense breast tissue characteristic of young women. In addition to the limited means for detecting their BC, young women face a transient increased risk of pregnancy-associated BC. As a consequence, reproductively active women could benefit significantly from a tool that provides them with accurate risk assessment and early detection of BC. One potential method for detection of BC is biochemical monitoring of proteins and other molecules in bodily fluids such as serum, nipple aspirate, ductal lavage, tear, urine, saliva and breast milk. Of all these fluids, only breast milk provides access to a large volume of breast tissue, in the form of exfoliated epithelial cells, and to the local breast environment, in the form of molecules in the milk. Thus, analysis of breast milk is a non-invasive method with significant potential for assessing BC risk. Here we analyzed human breast milk by mass spectrometry (MS)-based proteomics to build a biomarker signature for early detection of BC. Ten milk samples from eight women provided five paired-groups (cancer versus control) for analysis of dysregulatedproteins: two within woman comparisons (milk from a diseased breast versus a healthy breast of the same woman) and three across women comparisons (milk from a woman with cancer versus a woman without cancer). Despite a wide range in the time between milk donation and cancer diagnosis (cancer diagnosis occurred from 1 month before to 24 months after milk donation), the levels of some proteins differed significantly between cancer and control in several of the five comparison groups. These pilot data are supportive of the idea that molecular analysis of breast milk will identify proteins informative for early detection and accurate assessment of BC risk, and warrant further research. Treatment of platelets with human leukocyte elastase causes a rapid loss in response to von Willcbrand factor and a biphasic loss in rcsponse to thrombin, first rapid then more slowly. The rapid phase corresponds to cleavage of a 45-kDa glycopeptide from the extracellular end of membrane glycoprotein GPIb. Longer treatment removes 80-kDa and 90-kDa glycopcptides and a glycopeptide corresponding to the major part of GPV. The 45-kDa and 90-kDa species could be obtained by elastase treatment of glycocalicin, the major proteolytic cleavage product of GPIb. Polyclonal rabbit antibodies against the purified 45-kDa glycopeptide had the same effect on the action of von Willebrand factor and thrombin on platelets as cleavage of GPIb by elastase. These results indicate that both the von Willebrand factor and thrombin binding sites on GPIb are located in the samc region on thc outside of the molecule. Thrombin activation of platelets involves at least two receptors, one on the 45-kDa glycopeptide, which when occupied causes an increase in the speed of response of the platelets to the cleavage of the second. GPV, a candidate for the second receptor, is a hydrophobic glycoprotein that is cleaved from the platelet membrane by several proteases. Proteases that do not activate platelets but degrade the second receptor remove larger fragments from GPV than do proteases such as thrombin or trypsin which activate platelets.
