MWCNT Thin Films by CVD Method and Some Applications

Abstract: Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) is employed in this study to create MWCNT thin films. The examination of X-ray diffraction (XRD) shows that there are several strong peaks at 2θ ~ 35.5°, 54°, 57°and 62° which are attributed to the ( 222), ( 004), ( 104) and (015) planes, respectively. This leads to the conclusion that the sample is polycrystalline in nature with a hexagonal crystalline structure. The Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscope (FE-SEM) images highlight the shape of CNTs produced on catalyst par… Show more

“…To have a realistic estimate of solar cell efficiency, the optical and recombination losses must be considered under a realistic value of the parameters such as refractive index, extinction coefficient, energy gap, thickness, carrier lifetime, recombination velocity, carrier mobility of the used materials (antireflection layer, ITO, CdS, absorber layer) as listed in table (1). According to these facts, the width of the space charge region is 0.6 μm, the absorber The well-known equation [32] determines the efficiency of solar cells η(%):…”

“…In recent years, carbon nanotubes (CNTs) have been widely used as sensing materials for gas detection at room temperature due to their effective charge transfer with gas molecules at this temperature [11,12]. CNTs-based sensors are promising candidates for the highly sensitive detection of CH 4 gas at room temperature [13,14]. For instance, the CNT thin-film sensors prepared by Shano et al via the chemical deposition method were highly sensitive to CH 4 and other gases [13].…”

For instance, the CNT thin-film sensors prepared by Shano et al via the chemical deposition method were highly sensitive to CH 4 and other gases [13]. Although CNTs-based sensors can 2 of 11 detect CH 4 at room temperature, the selectivity of CH 4 to CNTs in the original state is unsatisfactory because nonpolar CH 4 molecules do not easily electronically interact with pristine CNTs [15,16].…”
