Abstract:Polymer matrix composites are vulnerable to low-velocity impact, although they have found many applications in high-tech industries. The main objective of this study is to improve compression after impact strength of the carbon/epoxy composites using nanoclay particles. All test samples were fabricated using a vacuum infusion process. The solution blending methodology was applied for better dispersion of the nanoparticles in the resin. The low-velocity impact response of the composite and nanocomposite laminat… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
