Abstract:Polymer clay nanocomposites offer an interesting alternative to conventional polymer filler systems, owing to their distinct behavior for a broad range of properties, in relation to the nanoscale dimensions of the inorganic phase and large interfacial area. Property optimization brings forth unique challenges regarding elaboration routes and structural characterizations at all pertinent scales.
