Natural resource potential as a factor of regional development

Abstract: широкое использование геоинформационных технологий, способствующих повышению эффективности принятия управленческих решений на различных уровнях планирования процессов природопользования и управления природными ресурсами на территории конкретных регионов. “…the factors of the regional development. A factor of development may be a component, a property of the region or an occurrence which exerts an influence over the socio-economic development (Feldman, 1999;Naydenov, 2019;Khasanova et al, 2020;Yun et al, 2017). The article undertakes to characterize the socio-economic development based on its three subcomponents, called for the purpose of the study: "the human capital", "the natural environment" as well as "entrepreneurship and innovativeness".…”

“…The variation in the level of regional development is a natural phenomenon that results from imbalanced access to the means of production, such as: labour, capital, or natural resources (Feldman, 1999;Khasanova et al, 2020). The differences in the potential of the regions converge with most theories of regional development (Naydenov, 2019;Yun et al, 2017).…”

“…In the first stage of the research procedure, a matrix of geographical information was created based on 31 indicators (Table 1), which specified the changes in the socio-economic development of the NUTS-3 units in the years 2010-2021 in relation to the following factors of development: "the society" (comprising, among others, the changes in the size and quality of human and social capital), "the economy" (comprising, among others, the structure of employment, the level of entrepreneurship as well as the level of innovativeness), as well as "the natural environment" (comprising, among others, spatial planning, the energy consumption of the economy as well as activities harmful to the environment). The abovementioned factors (components) of the development have been identified based on the literature review conducted (Naydenov, 2019;Yun et al, 2017;Feldman, 1999;Khasanova et al, 2020;Spychała, 2020;Diebolt, Hippe, 2019;De Castro et al, 2018;Krugman, 1998;Baklanov, 2020;Goryachikh, Kravchenko, 2020). Subsequently, Pearson's linear correlation coefficients were calculated between the researched departure indicators for their change in the years 2010-2021.…”

“…the subparts constituting the progression of the respective areas. A factor influencing the progression might be a subpart, a property of the region or an event which puts the most pressure on the socio-economic development of a particular territorial unit (Khasanova et al 2020;Naydenov 2019;Feldman 1999;Yun et al 2017). In this article, the socio-economic development was characterised based on its three subcomponents: human capital, the natural environment, and the economy.…”
