Nematic liquid crystal/dimethylsulphoxide mixture based tuning condenser

Abstract: Here, we demonstrate experimentally the existence oftemporally variable dielectric behavior of a nematic liquid crystal (NLC), the most widely used liquid crystal (LC) phase among all LCs materials, by mixing dimethylsulphoxide (DMSO) into former. The intermolecular interactions and nanosegregation of the molecular LC structures have influenced their self-assembly by mixing DMSO into it. We mainly examined the dielectric parameters such as dielectric permittivity, dielectric loss factor, and absorption/energy… Show more

“…The FTIR spectrum of 5CB-CsSnCl 3 (50 : 50) (taken into consideration to address the chemical interaction) (panel c) exhibits a strong absorption peak at 2227 cm À1 which appears due to the presence of the -CN group; the peaks for symmetric and asymmetric stretching of C-H bonds in the alkyl chain of 5CB have been seen in the range of 2860-2960 cm À1 confirming the presence of liquid crystals in the nanohybrids. 37 Moreover, the QC-H aromatic stretching vibration at 3026 cm À1 is a distinguishable peak for 5CB but it is quite non-significant for the assemblies. The FTIR spectrum of the LC-perovskite nanohybrids (99 : 1) (panel d) shows the appearance of two distinguishable peaks at 555 and 823 cm À1 corresponding to the QC-H aromatic out-of-plane bending mode in composites in lieu of pure 5-CB where these peaks appear at 541 and 813 cm À1 , respectively.…”
