“…Based on decades of research, one of the most important outcomes of the studies above is the development of a relatively complete Precambrian lithostratigraphic scheme, which is further applied in tectonic and paleogeographic reconstructions (e.g., Jiang et al, 2003;Bowring et al, 2007;Zhu and Wang, 2011;Zhu et al, 2016;Myrow et al, 2018;Jain et al, 2020;Zhou et al, 2020;Xiao et al, 2022;. However, given the recent developments in the definition and recalibration of the Cryogenian and Ediacaran systems (Shields-Zhou et al, 2016), as well as the latest findings of the Precambrian stratigraphy of the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau (e.g., Wang et al, 2018;Zhao et al, 2020;Sun L et al, 2022;Sun Y et al, 2022), it is necessary to reestablish a coherent Precambrian lithostratigraphic framework of this region based on the previous scheme (Qian, 1986;Bureau of Geology and Mineral Resources, Qinghai Province, 1997;Bureau of Geology and Mineral Resources, Gansu Province, 1997;He et al, 2014) and new recognitions.…”
