New Amorphous Hydrogels with Proliferative Properties as Potential Tools in Wound Healing

Abstract: The study and discovery of bioactive compounds and new formulations as potential tools for promoting the repair of dermoepidermal tissue in wound healing is of continuing interest. We have developed a new formulation of amorphous hydrogel based on sodium alginate (NaAlg); type I collagen, isolated by the authors from silver carp tails (COL); glycerol (Gli); Aloe vera gel powder (AV); and silver nanoparticles obtained by green synthesis with aqueous Cinnamomum verum extract (AgNPs@CIN) and vitamin C, respective… Show more

“…Nanogels are potential candidates for drug delivery because they can encapsulate both lipophilic and hydrophilic substances, reduce drug doses, and decrease side effects. Hydrogels are networks of three-dimensional cross-linked polymers that can absorb large amounts of water [ 153 , 154 , 155 ]. Physical and chemical methods are typically employed to synthesize hydrogels via polymer cross-linking.…”

“…Hydrogels are three-dimensional cross-linked polymer networks capable of adsorbing large volumes of water (the degree of swelling reaches several thousand percent) and imitating human tissues [ 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 , 5 ]. Hydrogels 20–30 nm in size (“nanogels”) are capable of incorporating hydrophobic drugs into the core and delivering them to their destination, providing their prolonged release.…”
