Abstract: Fourteen species new for science are described, illustrated and compared with closely related taxa. Six species of them are from South Korea, i.e. Bryostigma huriellae S. Y. Kondr. et J.-S. Hur, Caloplaca ulleungensis S. Y. Kondr., L. Lőkös et J.-S. Hur, Enterographa dokdoensis S. Y. Kondr. et J.-S. Hur, Neobrownliella salyangensis S. Y. Kondr. et J.-S. Hur, Rufoplaca aesan- ensis S. Y. “…South Korea, Gangwon Province, Pyeongchang-gun, Daegwallyeong-myeon, Heonggye-ri, a forested wetland, 37°46.00'N, 128°42. Key to the species of Rinodina from the far eastern Asia (63 taxa) Eleven more species have been recorded since Sheard et al (2017), such as Rinodina badiexcipula, R. colobinoides, R. convexula, R. herrei, R. laevigata, R. occulta, R. oxneriana, R. parasitica, R. tephraspis, and two new species from this study (Kondratyuk et al 2016(Kondratyuk et al , 2017Yakovchenko et al 2018;Galanina and Ezhkin 2019;Kondratyuk et al 2020;Galanina et al 2021). Particularly, R. laevigata of Aptroot and Moon (2014) was rejected by Sheard et al (2017), but Galanina et al (2021) confirmed the species in the far eastern Asia.…”

“…Particularly, R. laevigata of Aptroot and Moon (2014) was rejected by Sheard et al (2017) , but Galanina et al (2021) confirmed the species in the far eastern Asia. This key includes all above species except for R. convexula because the species was just announced for a new record to Korea without any specific description for reference ( Kondratyuk et al 2020 ). Rinodina confragosa (Ach.)…”

“…As these three lineages are closely related and form a monophyletic group, it would be possible to unite them all within a single genus Pyrenodesmia including species of the currently informal Caloplaca haematites and C. xerica groups, and therefore extending the original concept of Pyrenodesmia proposed by Massalongo (1852) and accepted by Arup et al (2013) to species with anthraquinones in the apothecia. This option was chosen by Kondratyuk et al (2020a,b). However, uniting all the lineages into one genus will result in a loss of information.…”
