“…Currently, only three classes of ILs models were developed for Martini 2.2, with the studies focused on pure IL, aqueous biphasic mixtures 35,36 and interactions with membranes. 37 Recently a number of limitations of the current version 2.2 of the Martini model have been reviewed, 31,38 which paved the way for developing a new version, Martini 3.0.…”

“…[ 35,83,113,278–283 ] Recently, interest in surfactants has renewed as ionic liquids (ILs) have attracted much attention for their use as biocompatible and green solvents and co‐solvents. This has led several authors to use Martini to simulate the self‐assembly of IL mesophases, [ 284,285 ] the process of IL‐mediated extractions, [ 285,286 ] as well as to guide the design of de novo molecules. [ 286 ]…”

“…Fatty acid ionic liquids were used successfully in various industries for different purposes, such as pharmaceutical [ 136 ], biorefining processes [ 137 ], solvents and co-solvents [ 138 , 139 , 140 ], dissolution and levulination of cellulose [ 141 ], formation of aqueous biphasic systems [ 142 ], CO 2 capture [ 143 , 144 ], catalyst [ 145 ], lubricant additives [ 146 ], plant protection products [ 147 ], and extraction agents [ 148 ]. Therefore, the demulsification potential of bio-based ionic liquids, as well as their human health effects, are worthy of further investigations in future.…”
