New class of hybrid EoS and Bayesian M - R data analysis

Abstract: Abstract. We explore systematically a new class of two-phase equations of state (EoS) for hybrid stars that is characterized by three main features : (1) stiffening of the nuclear EoS at supersaturation densities due to quark exchange effects (Pauli blocking) between hadrons, modelled by an excluded volume correction, (2) stiffening of the quark matter EoS at high densities due to multiquark interactions and (3) possibility for a strong first order phase transition with an early onset and large density jump. T… Show more

“…In this work, we have found that the HMTs in this approach are robust against the appearance of pasta phases at the hadron–quark boundary. Because of the flexibility in the parameter variation of the multi‐polytrope approach, it is feasible to perform a Bayesian analysis for parameter estimates fulfilling observational constraints, as presented in various works (Alvarez‐Castillo et al, , ; Ayriyan et al, , , ; Blaschke et al, ; Raithel et al, , ).…”

“…i with parameters s, v, and a cutoff density of n cut . The θ function in Equation (30) guarantees that Φ i = 1 for x ≤ 0 and the EV mechanism has no effect on the EoS. The functions g 1 in Equation (30) and g 8 in Equation (31) are defined as…”

“…In this work we consider the mass twin EoS and modifications to it in order to perform new Bayesian analysis calculations that, in addition to the previously used CS measurements in [28], will include the GW170817 data as priors to assess the probability of model parameters. Our model choice is the KVOR EoS for hadronic matter together with the String-Flip approach for the deconfined quark regime.…”
