New Combined Weighting Model Based on Maximizing the Difference in Evaluation Results and Its Application

Abstract: This paper presents an approach for weighting indices in the comprehensive evaluation. In accordance with the principle that the entire difference of various evaluation objects is to be maximally differentiated, an adjusted weighting coefficient is introduced. Based on the idea of maximizing the difference between the adjusted evaluation scores of each evaluation object and their mean, an objective programming model is established with more obvious differentiation between evaluation scores and the combined wei… Show more

“…Determining the weights of the indicators plays an important role in achieving this goal. The relative importance of each indicator is reflected in its weight [ 33 , 34 ]. Generally, weighting methods in MCDM can be divided into three categories: subjective, objective, and combined.…”

“…By combining the advantages of subjective and objective weighting methods, this study proposes a combined weighting method. The combined weighting based on level difference maximization has been widely used in evaluation studies in various fields, and its rationality has been confirmed [ 22 – 25 ]. Therefore, this study proposes determining the combined weights of evaluation indicators based on level difference maximization.…”
