New Method to Fabricate Limiting‐Current‐Type Oxygen Sensors

Abstract: A cofiring process with the addition of carbon fiber was demonstrated successfully to be a new method to fabricate limiting-current-type oxygen sensors. Reproducible, limiting-current behavior was realized in sensors that were made via cofiring. The limiting current was directly proportional to −ln (1 − X O 2 ) over an oxygen concentration X O 2 range of 0%-25%, and gas diffusion through the hole made by the burnout of the carbon fiber in the sensor was believed to be in the normal diffusion region.
