New Perspectives in Partial Least Squares and Related Methods

Abstract: We introduce a new regression method-called Correlated Component Regression (CCR)-which provides reliable predictions even with near multicollinear data. Near multicollinearity occurs when a large number of correlated predictors and relatively small sample size exists as well as situations involving a relatively small number of correlated predictors. Different variants of CCR are tailored to different types of regression (e.g. linear, logistic, Cox regression). We also present a step-down variable selection al… Show more

“…and the covariance between T and U is maximum (Abdi and Williams, 2013). In the above equations, T is the n × r X scores, U is the n × r Y scores, P is the p × r X loadings, Q is the 1 × r Y loadings, E and F are residuals, and r is the number of extracted latent variables.…”

“…Harman test. We also address this concern by applying a procedure called "the measured latent marker variable approach" (Chin et al, 2013) where we add a control variable that doesn't relate to the items in the proposed model (Chin et al, 2013;Mahama & Cheng, 2013;Nitzl, 2016).…”

“…We attribute this result to the subjective measures that were used in paper 2, such as for procedural justice and stewardship identification. To address potential common method bias problem, we adopted the latent marker variable approach (Chin et al, 2013), which we explain in the sequence.…”
