New phenomenological model for hadron production in high energy particle collisions

Abstract: The shapes of invariant differential cross section for charged particle production as function of transverse momentum measured in high energy collisions are analyzed. To describe recently observed effects a simple qualitative model for hadroproduction mechanism is proposed. Predictions of this model are described and measurements for its tests that can be performed at LHC are proposed.

“…(165) allows to estimate the initial energy density, which apparently is related to experimental quantities, like dE/dy and dN ch /dy. The dependence on other quantities is also possible [208,209]. A recent estimation for the quantity ǫ 0 τ at various center-of-mass energies is given in right panel of Fig.…”

“…A systematic comparative analysis of the vast volume of available experimental data allows to gain an insight into the hadron production mechanism. In the present paper the production of charged kaons, protons and antiprotons is analyzed within a framework of the approach developed in our previous publication [1].…”

“…In [9] it was shown that charged particle spectra measured in γγ collisions can be described by the power-law term of (1.1) alone while spectra measured in pp-collisions require a large (≈ 70%) exponential contribution. Qualitatively such behavior was explained in [10]. Therefore, it is expected that at HERA the transition between these two regimes of hadron production dynamics should be visible.…”
