Quality function deployment (QFD) is now used in various fields, such as product development, design, manufacturing, planning, and quality management services, as a planning tool to achieve customer requirements and needs while improving performance and sustainability concerns. This paper presents a systematic literature review of multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) methodologies integrated into QFD over the last year. In 2022, 56 research papers on planning strategies, the supply chain, and product development using QFD were published. Other fields such as energy, academia, and environment have also shown considerable interest in the integration of MCDM methodologies in QFD to improve decision-making processes. This research shows that the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) and the technique for order preference by similarity to ideal solutions (TOPSIS) methodologies are mainly used to rank customer requirements and weigh their importance in the house of quality (HoQ) structure. The use of fuzzy logic has been incorporated into the correlation matrix to evaluate the relationships between customer requirements and technical requirements. Methodologies such as decision-making trial and evaluation laboratory (DEMATEL) and fuzzy cognitive maps are implemented to deal with contradictions, and they have also been used to rank engineering characteristics. In the field of energy and renewable technologies, only few studies related to the integration of MCDM methodologies in QFD were found, but it is forecasted that their use will be used more often as they offer improvements and benefits in the ocean energy sector.

Municipalities play a key role in public waste management ensuring effective and efficient service performance. In Colombia, the public utilities sector has undergone significant changes since decentralization and the entry of private companies into the sector. In this study, our purpose is to analyze user perceptions and their willingness to pay for additional services regarding waste management. By using data analysis methods and a Mamdani fuzzy inference system, we were able to identify users’ service requirements and expected quality. According to the results of our analysis, a combination of minimum coverage and low frequency resulted in a tariff increase of 7.05%. Furthermore, we recommend expanding the model to include other waste management services, such as solid waste collection, as well as to consider environmental aspects and sustainable practices.

Green supply chain management attaches great importance to the coordinated development of social economy and ecological environment, and requires enterprises to consider environmental protection factors in product design, packaging, procurement, production, sales, logistics, waste and recycling. Suppliers are the “source” of the entire supply chain, and the choice of green suppliers is the basis of green supply chain management, and their quality will directly affect the environmental performance of enterprises. The green supplier selection is a classical multiple attribute group decision making (MAGDM) problems. Interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy sets (IVIFSs) are the extension of intuitionistic fuzzy sets (IFSs), and are utilized to depict the complex and changeable circumstance. To better adapt to complex environment, the purpose of this paper is to construct a new method to solve the MAGDM problems for green supplier selection. Taking the fuzzy and uncertain character of the IVIFSs and the psychological preference into consideration, the original MABAC method based on the cumulative prospect theory (CPT) is extended into IVIFSs (IVIF-CPT-MABAC) method for MAGDM issues. Meanwhile, the method to evaluate the attribute weighting vector is calculated by CRITIC method. Finally, a numerical example for green supplier selection has been given and some comparisons is used to illustrate advantages of IVIF-CPT-MABAC method and some comparison analysis and sensitivity analysis are applied to prove this new method’s effectiveness and stability.
