New scenario for aligned Higgs couplings originated from the twisted custodial symmetry at high energies

Abstract: We investigate a new scenario of the two Higgs doublet model, where the current experimental data for the electroweak rho parameter and those for the Higgs boson couplings can be simultaneously explained. In this scenario, the two Higgs doublet model is supposed to be a low energy effective theory up to a high energy scale Λ, above which a fundamental theory should appear. It is assumed that the Higgs potential respects a global symmetry at Λ (the twisted custodial symmetry), which is to be given as a conseque… Show more

“…Fifth, we discuss the oblique parameters S, T , and U [125,126], especially the T parameter. In the scalar potential, λ 4 − λ 5 and Im[λ 7 ] violate the custodial symmetry [127][128][129][130][131][132][133], and they induce the deviation of the T parameter from the SM prediction. Since λ 4 − λ 5 is proportional to m 2 H 3 − m 2 H ± , it vanishes when the masses of H ± and H 3 are degenerated.…”

“…Second, we discuss oblique parameters such as S, T, U [135,136], especially the T parameter. λ 4 − Re[λ 5 ] and Im[λ 7 ] terms in the potential violate the custordial symmetry [137][138][139][140][141][142][143]. Consequently, the existence of these terms causes a deviation in the T parameter from the SM value, and this is constrained from the electroweak fitting results [144].…”
