New Strategy to Optimize the Performance of Spray and Wait Routing Protocol

Abstract: Delay Tolerant Networks have been (DTN) have been developed to support the irregular connectivity often separate networks. The main routing problem in this type of network is embarrassed by time that is extremely long, since connections are intermittent and opportunistic. Routing protocols must take into account the maximum constraint encountered in this type of environment , use effective strategies regarding the choice of relay nodes and buffer management nodes to improve the delivery of messages and the tim… Show more

“…Ababou et.al. [1] proposed a new strategy that optimizes the routing in Spray and wait using the information on paths traversed by the messages before arriving at their destination. Our proposed method employs the binary spray but its copy limit (L) can be reset depending on message location, as described later in Section 3.…”

“…The other is quota-based scheme, where the number of copies is determined in advance.Different from the relay selection problem in the non-quantitative scheme, the key issue in the latter is that how to allocate copies effectively and efficiently. SprayWait [18] and its variants [19][20][21][22] use a binary diffusing method to allocate copies, which achieves a better performance if the movement pattern of nodes is independent and identical distribution. Other protocols like Hug [23], HS [24] and employ additional static nodes in communities to spread messages.…”

“…Previous works [4], [5], have proposed a technique called supp-tran to optimize the two routing protocols, Epidemic and Sray and Wait, using the paths of the messages that were delivered to their destination successfully, [5] analyzes the impact of the combination of mobility model and forwarding strategy on Sray and Wait.…”
