“…While for solvated polyphosphazenes with sulfonimide functional groups in their Li-form only moderate room temperature conductivities of up to 2.5 10 À6 S cm À1 are reported, [17] quite high conductivities reaching values of 7 10 À4 S cm À1 have been measured for Li exchanged Nafion solvated with NMF. [20,21] These conductivities could be even further increased to values slightly above 1 mS cm À1 by using solvent mixtures (e.g. NMP/DMF) or by the additional use of crown-ethers as Licomplexing agent.…”

“…The comonomer is usually tetrafluoroethylene (TFE) but can be also vinylidene fluoride (VDF or VF 2 ) with perfluorovinyl ethoxy sulfonyl fluoride [32] [38]. These monomers can also be functionalised by a carboxylic acid group [32,33,37] [39].…”

“…Radical copolymerizations of VDF and PFSVE were reported by DuPont8–10 and Hydro‐Quebec11, 12 companies. The first one prepared membranes from few copolymers obtained in emulsion copolymerization.…”

“…In fact, quite a few groups have decided to overcome the hazards of that gas by using other safe fluorocomonomers. To the best of our knowledge, DuPont8–10 and Hydro‐Quebec11–14 companies received patents on the radical copolymerization of this ω‐sulfonyl fluoride perfluorovinyl ether with vinylidene fluoride (VDF) under emulsion or solution polymerizations. As a matter of fact, the DuPont process incorporated a small amount of this functional fluoromonomer in the copolymers, while Hydro‐Quebec obtained copolymers containing a wider range of functional monomer.…”
