Nexus between green technology innovation, green financing, and CO2 emissions in the G7 countries: The moderating role of social globalisation

Abstract: Policymakers face a daunting task when it comes to achieving sustainable environmental development and avoiding additional environmental degradation. This study examines the significance of green technology innovation and green financing in creating a more sustainable environment. The impact of green technology innovation and green investment on carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions has yet to be empirically and theoretically examined in the literature, especially in conjunction with a moderating component, particula… Show more

“…The regression coefficient of GDP on carbon emissions has a downward trend from low quantile to high quantile, based on which it can be inferred that when GDP reaches a certain threshold, carbon emissions are likely to be reduced. This conclusion is supported by the opinions of Ahmad et al [ 22 ] and Sharif et al [ 49 ], who contend that the G7 energy mix is still largely dependent on fossil energy, even in recent years, and that the G7 countries have accomplished the majority of their growth by utilizing fossil energy that pollutes the environment. Therefore, economic development is now detrimental to environmental quality.…”

“…The research unveiled that the mitigation of emissions in Turkey is attributable to the surge in the TEC. Likewise, Sharif et al (2022a) inspected the TEC-emissions nexus in G7 economies applying the data between 1995 and 2019. The association was identified using the CS-ARDL method and revealed that TEC plays an important role in abating emissions.…”
