Nitrogen and phosphorus loads for urban storm runoff of Xiamen Island based on GIS

Abstract: SCS-CN (Soil Conserve Service-Curve Number) model was used for calculating runoff volumes of different land uses and soil types in Xiamen Island based on GIS. By using spatial extension module, overlapping and rasterizing functions of ArcView, nitrogen and phosphorus loads are calculated and displayed as spatial maps. With 12 mm rainfall, Total nitrogen and phosphorus loads for this urban runoff of Xiamen Island are 764.4 kg and 47.7 kg.
