Nomogram for Predicting Overall Survival and Assessing the Survival Benefit of Adjuvant Treatment in pT1-2N0M0 Triple-Negative Breast Cancer: A Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results-Based Study

Abstract: BackgroundAccurate survival prediction of triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) is essential in the decision-making of adjuvant treatment. The aim of this prospective study was to develop a nomogram that predicts overall survival and assists adjuvant treatment formulation.MethodsA total of 16,977 patients with pT1-2N0M0 TNBC between 2010 and 2015 from the SEER database were enrolled. Independent prognostic factors associated with overall survival (OS) were identified using univariate and multivariate Cox regres… Show more

“…In recent years, the nomogram has been widely used as a predictive method in oncology, which has been shown to present better predictive power than traditional TNM classification. 11 13 In our previous study, the nomogram model also exhibited favorable discriminative ability for stage I-III LUSC. 14 …”

“…In recent years, the nomogram has been widely used as a predictive method in oncology, which has been shown to present better predictive power than traditional TNM classification. [11][12][13] In our previous study, the nomogram model also exhibited favorable discriminative ability for stage I-III LUSC. 14 In this work, we developed a prognostic nomogram for metastatic LUSC patients based on the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) database and assessed its reliability and feasibility by an independent internal cohort.…”

“…To accurately identify patients who can benefit from radiotherapy and help make personal suggestions, this study constructed survival prediction nomograms. Although some nomograms have been developed to predict the individual survival probability of BC patients ( 41 , 42 ), there are still some unique characteristics in our model. First, based on specific radiotherapy disputes, patients who experienced IBR were accurately included in the study participants.…”

“…This nomogram can be personalized to accurately predict the prognosis of the disease and facilitate clinical decision-making. Using the SEER database, some previous studies constructed nomograms of early forms of postoperative cancers, including non-small cell lung cancer ( 24 ), triple-negative breast cancer ( 25 ) and esophageal cancer ( 26 ) to predict patient outcomes. To date, no specific nomogram has been reported for surgically resected early-stage cervical adenocarcinoma.…”
