Non–Culture-Based Methods for the Diagnosis of Invasive Candidiasis

Abstract: Given the limitations of current fungal diagnostics, the use of non-culture-based methods for the diagnosis of invasive candidiasis (IC) is highly warranted. The implementation of molecular diagnostic strategies could permit the timely onset of appropriate therapy and may be expected to pave the way for improved clinical outcome of IC.
