“…Comparison of the infrared spectra for phthalocyanine complexes with divalent cations (Mn 2+ , Fe 2+ , Co +2 and Ni 2 + ), pristine SWCNTs and SWCNTs+MPc hybrids is presented in Figure . One should note that, as it is usually observed, the overall quality of FTIR spectra for CNTs‐based samples is rather low due to a low signal‐to‐noise ratio, resulting from a considerable heterogeneity of bundled nanotube samples and a strong absorption of infrared radiation. An evident exception is the spectrum of SWCNTs+MnPc hybrids, which can be attributed to some SWCNTs reordering during liquid‐phase deposition of MnPc.…”

“…The fact that no evident presence of MPc crystallites can be detected by SEM in any of the samples suggests the formation of a relatively homogeneous layer (probably a monolayer) of adsorbed phthalocyanine molecules on nanotube sidewalls. A similar behavior was observed previously for both free‐base H 2 Pc and its transition metal complexes . The morphology and size of MPcs crystals are different from those of nanotubes and can be distringuised in the SEM images from pure or isolated MPc (Figure S1).…”
