Abstract:This paper analyzes nonequilibrium ionization problem by using multiple-time-scale perpurbation theory. The processes which are responsible for electron's average occupation probabilities Pn generally have much different time scales. In this paper the transitions between two neighbouring bound energy levels are considered as fast, the others, including the ionization processes, as slow. It is especially suitable for lower levels of high Z elements. The theory presented here gives analytic expressions for Pn as… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
