Nonlinear threshold of RZ-DBPSK and RZ-DQPSK

Abstract: The nonlinear thresholds of differential binary and quaternary phase-shift keying are compared for a wide range of fibre types and symbol rates. Optimum fibre types for symbol rates of practical interest are derived.
