Nonlinearities in block-type reduced-order vocal fold models with asymmetric tissue properties

Abstract: Modeling the vocal fold structure as a reduced-order system is an attractive approach for exploring the dynamics of both normal and pathological phonation. This approach has been used ubiquitously in scientific speech investigations due to its relatively high order of accuracy and low computational cost. In addition, good agreement can also be found between model and clinical data.
