Normal-state charge dynamics in doped BaFe2As2: Roles of doping and necessary ingredients for superconductivity

Abstract: In high-transition-temperature superconducting cuprates and iron arsenides, chemical doping plays an important role in inducing superconductivity. Whereas in the cuprate case, the dominant role of doping is to inject charge carriers, the role for the iron arsenides is complex owing to carrier multiplicity and the diversity of doping. Here, we present a comparative study of the in-plane resistivity and the optical spectrum of doped BaFe2As2, which allows for separation of coherent (itinerant) and incoherent (hi… Show more

“…Large mass enhancements have been measured in KFe 2 As 2 by quantum oscillations [197] and ARPES [198]. The Drude peak in KFe 2 As 2 is strongly suppressed [199,200] when compared with that of BaFe 2 As 2 in agreement with theoretical estimates [119]. The specific heat enhancement is even larger in CsFe 2 As 2 and RbFe 2 As 2 [201,202], isovalent to KFe 2 As 2 .…”

“…This can be naturally expected since the end material FeSe shows a good metallic behavior [24]. ρ(300K) can be seen upon Se substitution unlike the case of isovalent P-doped 122 materials where carriers become more coherent with P substitution and resistivity consequently decreases due probably to a chemical pressure effect [25]. is consistent with previous studies [26,27].…”
