Novel and Simple Route to Fabricate 2D Ordered Gold Nanobowl Arrays Based on 3D Colloidal Crystals

Abstract: In this study, we present a new method to fabricate large-area two-dimensionally (2D) ordered gold nanobowl arrays based on 3D colloidal crystals by wet chemosynthesis, which combines the advantages of a very simple preparation and an applicability to "real" nanomaterials. By combination of in situ growth of gold nanoshell (GNSs) arrays based on three-dimensional (3D) colloidal silica crystals, a monolayer ordered reversed GNS array (2D ordered GNS array) was conveniently manufactured by an acrylic ester modif… Show more

“…22 Synthetic chemistry has provided a few facile and reliable approaches to the synthesis of monodisperse Au NPs with a particle size distribution of 1.5-150 nm. [23][24][25] To enhance their dispersion, Au NPs were often impregnated into or deposited onto low-cost supporting materials (such as inorganic substances and organic polymers) to fabricate composite catalysts. For example, the impregnation or incipient wetness impregnation route had been routinely used to load Au NPs on the internal wall of carbon spheres, organo-silica tubes and other hollow structures.…”

“…Preparation of capturing substrates: anti-CEA & anti-AFP-linked ordered gold nanohoneycomb arrays At first, ordered gold nanohoneycomb arrays were synthesized as previous reported in our group [40], which were modified with DMSA to link the antibodies. Subsequently, by immersing modified ordered gold nanohoneycomb arrays in buffer solution containing EDC and NHS for 30 min, the carboxyl groups of DMSA were activated.…”

“…57,58 They can be fabricated with much lower cost, but oen intrinsically less reproducible methods, including 2-dimensional sphere lithography. 59,60 Low cost sphere array templating has been reported with vapour or electrodeposition of silver or most commonly gold, as described by Xu et al 61 or Bartlett et al; 62 the latter conducted an extensive study regarding the optical properties of such metallic nanocavity arrays. 59,[63][64][65][66][67] To augment the advantageous plasmonic elds of spherical void arrays, a number of approaches have been examined to improve both the electric eld enhancement and the focusing of the eld spatially within porous arrays.…”
