Novel Design, Preparation, Characterization and Antimicrobial Activity of Silver Nanoparticles during Oak Acorns Bark Retrograde

Abstract: In search for a probable local solution for Qarasu River problems and based on our prescience about metal ion chelating/reducing ability of tannins which are found in large amount in oak acorns bark, Quercus brantii (Persian oak) acorns bark extract was exploited as reducing/capping agent in silver nanoparticles synthesis. Synthesis was carried out as a single-step method at room temperature, and without consuming any external energy by using these renewable barks. The crystallinity, size and shape of the nano… Show more

“…Tannic acid (TA) is a natural polyphenol with excellent properties, such as UV absorption, free radical scavenging, adhesion, reduction, antibacterial activity, and secondary reactivity. In addition, TA can interact with various metal ions, and it has a six-member-ring chelator structure, which can rapidly nucleate silver atoms around the o -dihydroxy phenyl group of tannic acid under appropriate conditions . Silver nanoparticles have been widely studied for the SERS effect.…”

“…GO has various applications including as electrochemical sensors and biosensors, in drug delivery, as dye adsorbents, as electrodes for supercapacitors, in batteries, and as catalysts . The green procedures for the preparation of metal NPs by plant extracts have various benefits over chemical or physical synthetic procedures, including simplicity, elimination of toxic and dangerous materials, use of nontoxicant solvents, for example water, and moderate reaction conditions . In this research, a green synthesis of Ag NPs using eucalyptus leaf extract was reported.…”

“…[39] The green procedures for the preparation of metal NPs by plant extracts have various benefits over chemical or physical synthetic procedures, including simplicity, elimination of toxic and dangerous materials, use of nontoxicant solvents, for example water, and moderate reaction conditions. [40][41][42] In this research, a green synthesis of Ag NPs using eucalyptus leaf extract was reported. In addition, polyallylamine (PAA), a water-soluble polymer with a large number of positively charged amine groups, was connected to the GO-Fe 3 O 4 nanocomposite for the reduction of organic dyes.…”
