Novel insights into the systemic treatment of lung cancer malignant pleural effusion

Abstract: Lung cancer is the most common fatal malignancy worldwide. Approximately 75% of non‐small‐cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients are diagnosed at an advanced or a metastatic stage. Since 2007, NSCLC patients with malignant pleural effusion (MPE) are staged as M1 disease. During the last decades, chemotherapeutic agents failed to offer a significant improvement of survival in patients with metastatic disease. The current review aims to summarize the actual situation of the recently developed therapies in patients wi… Show more

“…In the case of hunger and malnutrition, these patients are repeatedly treated with chemotherapy and radiation. Due to malnutrition, plasma protein levels in patients are reduced, and the body's absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion of chemotherapeutic drugs are impaired, which significantly affects the hemodynamics of chemotherapeutic drugs (Yang et al, 2019;Wang et al, 2019;Tissot et al, 2019). As a result, patients' adverse reactions to chemotherapeutic drugs increase, the body's tolerance decreases, and the effect of antitumor treatment is affected.…”

“…Calculate Euclidean distance of each point 'p' from both the centroids using Equation 14. Ed (1) where D is the ecludeian calculation function 5. Rearrange as the closest distance measure from the centroids The k-means algorithm extracts the foreground and background to a good extent but if the classification design has to be completely automated with preciseness, may be good extent is not good enough.…”

“… [2] Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) accounts for >80% of all types of lung cancer, which is the primary classification of lung malignancies. [3] Although the inspection equipment, technical methods and new drugs have developed rapidly in recent years, ∼75% of patients with NSCLC are already at the advanced stage when they are clinically diagnosed (inoperable IIIA, IIIB and IV), [4] which leads to the poor prognosis with a 5-year survival rate at ∼18%. [5] …”
