“…In our proposed calibration strategy, based on the MIRM channels, sample dilution for samples outside the calibration curve range is obviated by monitoring the MIRM with proper intensity. 15,21,36 It is important to note that the dilution factor requires further evaluation. In this study, a series of dilution factors, including 2 ULOQ, 4 ULOQ, 8 ULOQ, 10 ULOQ, 15 ULOQ, and 20 ULOQ, were evaluated, with the results presented in Figure 3D.…”

“…Moreover, relatively low isotopic abundance MIRM channels usually have larger % dev due to significant measurement errors caused even by small interferences. 26,27 On the other hand, high isotopic abundance MIRM channels are less affected by these interferences, leading to more accurate results. Hence, when selecting MIRM channels, it is essential to evaluate the impact of endogenous substances in the matrix on MIRM channels, and those channels prone to interference should be excluded.…”

“…However, with OSCC, a calibration curve can be prepared using only a single sample, significantly improving the efficiency of calibration curve preparation and overall analysis throughput. 26,27,30 In fact, even by directly adding a certain concentration of the SIL analyte to the test sample, ISCC can be constructed in each sample, eliminating the need for MSCC. 29 Nevertheless, ISCC demands the addition of high concentrations of the SIL analyte, which can be costly and restrict its practical application.…”

“…For centuries some species of Nostoc -the symbiotic colonial cyanobacteria N. flagelliforme, N. commune, and N. sphaeroides -have been wild-harvested and consumed as a part of the traditional diet by indigenous people in different countries, including Peru, China, Ecquador, Mexico, Fiji, Filippines, Mongolia [209,210]. MC-LR and 7 congeners UHPLC-MS/MS (ESI) 0.02-0.2 µg/L 0.05-0.5 µg/L [194] Chronic dietary exposure to BMAA present in the traditional Chamorro diet was associated with the formation of both β-amyloid deposits and neurofibrils tangles (NFT) found in brain tissues of Chamorros who died with ALS/ Parkinson's dementia complex (ALS/PD). BMAA occurs not only as a free amino acid at different levels of the trophic chain (cyanobacteria Nostoc sp., root symbioses, cycad seeds, flying foxes, and brain tissues of Chamorro people who passed away from ALS/PD) but can also be released by acid hydrolysis increasing in concentrations 10-to 240-fold [207].…”
