“…As shown in Figure 1a, the C−Mn 3 O 4 NHs are spherical in shape and exhibit unimodal distribution. HRTEM image (Figure 1b) revealed the interplanar distance between fringes is 3.12 Å which corresponds to (112) plane of Mn 3 O 4 spinel lattice [2d,16] . C−Mn 3 O 4 NHs have an average size of 4.9+0.22 nm (Figure 1c) with a narrow size distribution (4.0 nm–6 nm).…”

“…have also been studied exhaustively [4] . Nanohybrids containing another member of the transition metal family, manganese (Mn) have also displayed huge potential as theranostic agents against several chronic diseases [2a,c,d,5] . Redox buffering capability (to function as both pro‐ and anti‐oxidant system), target specificity, and enzyme mimicking activities are the key mechanisms behind the therapeutic potential of Mn based nanohybrid [2a,b,5–6] .…”

“…Thus, the nonbonded electrons will react with the dissolved oxygen of the reaction medium and lead to the formation of a higher content of oxygen radicals. To evaluate the class of ROS, we have used sodium azide (NaN 3 ), a well-known singlet oxygen quencher . From Figure b it is clear that the addition of NaN 3 lowers the amount of ROS generated by C-C 3 N 4 NDs.…”

“…Thus, C- C 3 N 4 NDs predominantly generate singlet oxygen. The involvement of superoxide has been examined using a chemiluminescence assay. , Figure c indicates that, when they are added to luminol (in the presence of NaOH), the C-C 3 N 4 NDs generate a very nominal amount of superoxide. Thus, the generation of superoxide by C-C 3 N 4 NDs can be excluded from the evidence in Figure c.…”

“…Also such approach will reduce the requirement of additional introduction of hazardous chemicals and stabilizing agents and would lead to environmentally friendly synthesis of OINH (Tian et al, ). Moreover, one‐pot approach has also shown a cost‐effective approach for the binding of folate molecules to the surface of inorganic nanoparticles like Mn 3 O 4 which was possible even without a linker molecule (Mondal et al, ).…”
