“…From the decrease of the polarisation we conclude that the scattering is due to features larger than 200 nm. Unfortunately, it is too early to compare the measurements quantitatively with calculations (Rekveldt, 1996) due to the multiple scattering used to increase the signal.…”

“…Keller et al (1995) showed that SANS can be detected with a zero-field spin echo technique using inclined coils. Rekveldt (1996) proposed a technique to measure SANS with normal Larmor precession using coils with inclined front and end faces. In a modified concept these coils are reduced to triangular shaped coils which make the set-up only sensitive to elastic scattering.…”

“…Incoherent scattering, large angle coherent scattering, or absorption can be taken into account by a suitable imaginary part of the refraction index. 5 The approximation is valid for thermal neutrons as used in spin echo small angle neutron scattering [18][19][20][21] ͑SESANS͒ or ultrasmall angle neutron scattering [22][23][24] as the refractive index is close to unity. Note that the deviation from unity of the refractive index is proportional to the square of the wavelength so it increases rapidly for increasing wavelength.…”
