“…In contrast, rapamycin-induced autophagy and ATG5 expression are partly inhibited by treatment with SR9009 (NR1D1 agonist), indicating that NR1D1 maintains autophagy homeostasis in mouse GCs [ 31 ]. Wu et al [ 32 ] discovered that in GSK4112 (an NR1D1 agonist)-treated tilapia, the majority of autophagy-related genes were decreased and exhibited altered rhythmicity involving Atg4c, Bnip3la, Lc3a, Lc3b , and Lc3c mRNA levels. Moreover, Chandra et al [ 33 ] demonstrated that NR1D1 activation by GSK4112 stimulated an increase in autophagic flux and lysosome formation in human macrophages via transcription factor EB (TFEB)-associated pathways.…”

“…Some studies have implicated it in the circadian system. Thus, daily oscillations of nr1d1 expression have been described in zebrafish ( Danio rerio ) [ 28 , 29 , 30 ], Nile tilapia ( Oreochromis niloticus ) [ 31 , 32 ], Chinese perch ( Siniperca chuatsi ) [ 33 ], Atlantic cod ( Gadus morhua ) [ 34 ], and goldfish ( Carassius auratus ) [ 35 ]. Moreover, REV-ERBα inhibits bmal expression in zebrafish [ 36 ] and goldfish (own unpublished results), in agreement with the known role of REV-ERBα as a repressor of the molecular clock transcription network [ 10 ].…”

“…Autophagy has been recognized as a circadian‐driven process in animals. The transcript levels of ATGs and the numbers of autophagosomes exhibit daily rhythms in zebrafish and Nile tilapia (Huang et al, 2016; Wu et al, 2020). The core clock gene Nr1d1 represses the expression of ATGs by directly binding to their promoters (Huang et al, 2016).…”
