Abstract: Nuclear medicine (NM) is a medical specialty where radioactive agents are used to obtain medical images for diagnostic purposes, and to a lesser extent treat diseases (e.g., cancer). Since imaging is where computers find their most significant application in NM, imaging will be the focus of this article.
