Nuclear-pumped lasers for large-scale applications

Abstract: Efficient initiation of large-volume chemical lasers may be achieved by neutron induced reactions which produce charged particles in the final state. When a burst mode nuclear reactor is used aa the neutron source, both a sufficiently intense neutron flux and a sufficiently short initiation pulse may be possible.
