“…This article is the capstone of a long-term effort to determine baryon distribution amplitudes from lattice QCD using dynamical clover fermions. This project began more than a decade ago with the N f = 2 studies of nucleon DAs [7,8] and subsequently also explored the negative parity partner of the nucleon [9][10][11][12]. The new N f = 2 + 1 ensembles generated more recently within the CLS (Coordinated Lattice Simulations) effort [13] 1 include dynamical strange quarks and have recently allowed for a first determination of hyperon distribution amplitudes [14] on four ensembles at a single lattice spacing.…”

“…Concerning the proton's leading-twist PDA, however, the situation is as unsatisfactory today as it was for mesons ten years ago. Estimates of low-order Mellin moments exist, obtained using sum rules [14,15] or lattice-QCD (lQCD) [16][17][18], but there are no quantum field theory computations of this PDA's pointwise behaviour; and nothing is known about the PDA of the proton's radial excitation. These issues are addressed herein.…”

“…Progress report: Since 1980s, LQCD has come a long way to compute the MEs relevant to proton decay [53][54][55][57][58][59][60]. Uncontrolled systematic uncertainties in early calculations arising from the"quenched approximation", chiral-symmetry violation, quark-mass extrapolation, and reliance on leading-order baryon χPT have been accounted for in state-of-the-art present-day calculations.…”
