Numerical Simulation on the Hydrogen Storage Performance of Magnesium Hydrogen Storage Reactors

Abstract: Magnesium hydride (MH) is one of the most promising hydrogen storage materials. Under the hydrogen storage process, it will emit a large amount of heat, which limits the efficiency of the hydrogen storage reaction. In this paper, the hydrogen storage performance of the magnesium hydrogen storage reactor (MHSR) and the effect of structural parameters were studied by numerical simulation. The effect of different operating conditions on the hydrogen storage performance of the MHSR is analyzed. The volume energy s… Show more

“…Salt caverns can achieve a recovery efficiency of 100%. 50 This results in a higher need for compressors for salt cavern sites, resulting in higher capital costs (Figure 3C). The higher cycling rate results in a higher annual WGE, decreasing the levelized costs of salt caverns.…”

“…As one of the five major transportation modes, pipeline transportation has the advantages of low loss, strong continuity, smooth operation, convenient management, safety and reliability, etc. 1 Nearly 100% of the world's natural gas and more than 85% of oil are transported through long-distance pipelines. 2 With population growth and economic development, energy demand continues to increase, and pipeline construction has been developing rapidly.…”
