Numerical Simulations to Illuminate the Sufficient Conditions of Integral Approximation Theorems
Julan Hernadi
Abstract:One of the crucial issue in the mathematical reasoning is that many students do not really understand the mathematical rules underlying the conditional statement p → q, whereas most of mathematical theorems are of this pattern. They believe that the falsity of p implies the falsity of q. This is tantamount to presuming that implication is equivalent to the inverse, but that’s not the case. This fact suggests that students have not been able in distinguishing the sufficient and the necessary conditions of a con… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
