Numerical Study of a Phase Change Material Energy Storage Tank Working with Carbon Nanotube–Water Nanofluid under Ha’il City Climatic Conditions

Abstract: A numerical investigation of a phase change material (PCM) energy storage tank working with carbon nanotube (CNT)–water nanofluid is performed. The study was conducted under actual climatic conditions of the Ha’il region (Saudi Arabia). Two configurations related to the absence or presence of conductive baffles are studied. The tank is filled by encapsulated paraffin wax as the PCM, and CNT–water nanofluid flows through the capsules. The main goal is to increase the temperature of the PCM to 70 °C in order to … Show more

“…Utilizing a two-objective optimization framework, the plan aims to minimize the expenses associated with both VPP and EENS planning. The annual cost of constructing the various sources and ESSs in the VPP is included in the planning costs, in addition to the expected yearly operating expenditures of the NRESs and the purchase of electricity from the distribution network for the VPP [21][22][23][24][25]. Power flow equations for the distribution network, the VPPs' planning and operation model, and operational and resilience constraints are other factors that affect the problem.…”

“…The VPP under study consists of WF and flexible sources like ESS [45][46][47][48][49][50] and DRP and is in connection with the transmission system. The VPP aims to inject/absorb electrical power and meet the reserve required by the system.…”

“…The operating model of EVs aggregation is described by Equations ( 15)-( 18) [6,19]. Constraints (15) and ( 16) are respectively the charge and discharge rate limit [51][52][53][54]. Equations ( 17) and ( 18) express the amount of energy storage in the EVs and its boundary.…”
